Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) include graduation rates, employment rates and defaulted Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) loan rates as required by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) [1].
Graduation Rates (Undergraduate)
Graduation rates are calculated by the MCU by following a single cohort to determine whether the students graduated within 7 years. The chosen cohort consists of first-time, full-time undergraduate students in their first year based on that year’s official Fall enrolment file. The records of these students are compared against records of those who were awarded degrees from the University of Guelph from 1 year after they began at the university to 7 years after they began at the university.
Employment Rates (Undergraduate)
Employment rates result from the Ontario University Graduate Survey (OUGS). All graduates that are surveyed each year are asked about their employment situation 6 months and 2 years after graduating.
OSAP Default Rates (Undergraduate and Graduate)
OSAP default rates are the percentage of students issued Canada-Ontario Integrated Student Loans (COISL) in a given year who did not receive loans or grants through OSAP the following year, and who defaulted on their repayment responsibilities. OSAP default rates are calculated by the MCU.
